Anyway, I'm rambling.
4 Days and counting!
I have no specific topic for this post, so instead I shall give you all a daily dose of random. Very random.
Shy Boy update
Movie #3 was good. Well, the date (see I'm using the "d"-word now) was good, the movie was average. It was your typical good-guy versus bad-guy action movie, although both Travolta and Washington played excellent roles.
Still no physical contact except that our shoulders touched throughout most of the movie. I realize I sound like a 12 year old saying that, but I've learned to be thankful for small favours when it comes to him, haha.
I tried the whole post card thing, but I just couldn't bring myself to ask for his address, I know, stupid right? But I had a good night and I think things are improving. Perhaps me being gone will change things for the better. A girl can hope anyway!
Random 1
I got my hair cut a few days ago, it desperately needed to be trimmed. Every time I'm sitting at the salon, and the hair dresser is cutting my hair and then nicely styling it I have the same dilema.
I love the way the stylist blow dries and styles my hair, BUT then a few days later when I am desperately trying to copy that exact style at home, I'm dissapointed and frustrated. I always feel like asking the stylist to dry my hair looking bad on purpose. At least that way I won't know how nice my hair could look, even though I know I'll never be able to duplicate it.
Does this happen to anybody else?
Random 2
Due to baggage constraints on Aer Lingus, I'm forced to only pack the bare minimum. This means that extra pair of shoes or those jeans or that book have to stay at home. I'm allowing myself to buy ONE new book to take overseas with me, regardless of the weight restrictions.
I have a few ideas from posts from fellow bloggers, but I'm looking for other suggestions as well. Since its vacation, I'm thinking of something light-hearted, things I call "chick-lit". Something along the lines of Emily Giffin or Sophie Kinsella, but I'm also open to more serious or heavy books.
What is your favourite vacation-book ? Or guilty pleasure reading?
I think that's it for my random rambling today. I'm off to catch up on all your blogs!
i absolutely love your blog. follow my blog. thanks x
ReplyDeletethanks so much for your comment katie!
ReplyDeleteThis boy, Ella... is he a cookie? : ) Because if he is then you should definitely ask him for his address! : ) And, yeah, I feel exactly the same: I leave the hairdresser and I feel like a film star, then after two days I desperately try to copy this look but it never turns out right! And then I resort to a pony tail...
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if he's a cookie haha.
ReplyDeleteI resorted to my hair straightener today, but it doesn't look anywhere near as nice as it did. *sigh*

I just found your blog through Fidgeting Gidget I believe, and I love it! So excited to hear about your travels!
ReplyDeleteAnd give Love, Rosie a try as far as a book goes. Very cute, very light. I'm reading it now and like it a lot.

4 days!!! So exciting! I don't have any chick-lit book suggestions because it seems like, as of late, I have been reading only heavier books (even though I LOVE Sophie Kinsella-ish books)...I heard The Glass Castle was supposed to be amazing from numerous friends, so I'm going to recommend that!
ReplyDeleteI can NEVER blow dry my hair the way the stylist does... and I love the way she does it...
ReplyDelete"shoulders touched"-- CUTE! I totally relate, when I met Matt I was like 19 but I still over-analyzed everything like I was 12... "he hasn't called me his girlfriend, but when Andy asked if he was bringing his girlfriend he said yes... does that mean I'm his girlfriend?" :)
The same thing happens to me every time I go to the salon! I love it when they style it, then I get home and HATE it when I can't recreate the look! When I want to read something light hearted during the summer I read Jennifer Crusie's books...cute and romantic. Or Nicholas Sparks! I read all those books over and over again!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to take things super slow because then every little thing means something!!
ReplyDeleteOoooh!!! Books!!!! *runs to bookshelf*
the historian by Elizabeth kostova
I was told there'd be cake by sloane crosley
Staying at daisies by jill mansell
Jane Austen ruined my life by beth pattillo
Special topics in calamity physics by pessl (I adore this book)
Atonement by ian mcewan
And send him a text to ask for his address!!!
I love going to get my hair done, but always have the same problem. I see her fix it and it seems like it would be so easy to do, but it never looks the same. I often wondered it if was because I don't use the same products, but even when I have it doesn't seem to make it any better.
ReplyDeleteI have that song in my head as well. I'm looking forward to read your adventure in Europe. And don't forget to visit my blog more often:p I love comments.
ReplyDeleteAlso, don't forget to pack all your liquid, gel, cream, and spray over 100 ml in your checked luggage.
I can't wait go to Banff at the end of June:)
Exciting! :-)
ReplyDeleteI wonder why they limit the baggage amount? This is a shame. Yesterday, another friend wrote 'The Final Countdown' on her Facebook update, counting down to her summer trip. Song was in my head then & now it's back. But I don't mind ;-)
Same here with the salon! I can't ever duplicate what they've done. Bought the brushes and all.
Be sure to get his address ;-)
Have a great trip! I look forward to your updates!
Hi, i been following your blog for a while

@ Ali - thanks so much for your comment and recomendation!
ReplyDelete@ Life Abroad - thanks so much! I will definitely look that one up :)
@ Sarah the new girl - oh I know! I over analyze everything, its so terrible after a while haha.
@ Sarah - that's soo true about the little things! And I love that you're so excited over books! I love books. I'd read a book a day if I could!
@ Trixie - I know. They make it look so effortless and simple, and then even after an hour of blow drying, my hair never even comes close
@ Bluefish - thank you so much for the travel reminders! Its such a hassle to sepparate the liquids these days! I will definitely catch up on your blog while I'm away :)
@ Isabella - Thank you! Stupid Airlines want to make the whole experience that much more stressful with liquids and now baggage and all that!
@ Days and night - Its nice to meet you :) I will definitely check out your blog too, I love new reading material!
Hey Ella this is my new blog, can't access the old one anymore.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love reading Sophie Kinsella's books whenever I travel. They're light yet are fun enough to read.
Enjoy your upcoming trip! :)
Last time I traveled I re-read
ReplyDeleteLolita by Nabukov. Now for my future trip I want to read Bridget Jones/ southern vampire mysteries
hhihi my guilty reads are romance novels! love them! hihihihi but dont dont tell my Lit professors that! ;)
ReplyDeleteHey there-
ReplyDeletejust came upon your blog, and LOVE it!
I can't wait to read more about all of your lovely travels.
I just had to say- I totally feel ya on the hair thing. I can NEVER get it as cute as they do when they style it in the salon. I was so happy to have my best friend become a stylist, and then she up and moved to Indiana- booo. Well, at least we can look great on the day we get it done :)
Hope to talk to you more soon!
Jessica
